But recently I was able to get in the shop and I was trying to think of what I could make. I have a ton (not literally) of scrap/junk wood in my shop and got the idea of turning a bowl. I cut the pieces to a near common length then glued them together making small boards. Of course when it came time to plane them I realized they were too short to safely run through my thickness planer. So I took some scrap 2×4’s and cut 1/2 x 3/4 x 3′ strips and glued them on the side of the boards making them safe to plane down. I then surface glued them together at 45 degree angles hoping that would tie them all together.
Well attached is the finished project. I’m quite proud of it’s made of scrap wood.
I’m hoping to get back to doing more bowl turning and hopefully try my luck at using resin.
