279- Simple Hemlock Tool Chest
After admiring the simplicity of a tool chest designed by Mike Pekovich, Fong came up with this version, which uses a fir boat cleat tied with string to keep the lid closed. “The hemlock strips in this piece were originally a decorative feature on the ceiling of my alma mater. During a remodel they threw out dozens of these strips that I laminated together to make the casework for my tool chest,” Fong said.
