Marchetti, a first-year student of longtime FWW contributor and period furniture guru Phil Lowe at the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts, made two of these chairs, based on the work of renowned Salem carver Samuel McIntire. “I really underestimated the amount of work and the challenges I would face, but it forced me to work hard and develop skills which have given me the confidence to take on more challenging projects,” he said.
