Never say Never
This piece started out as a 3”X10” piece of maple given to me by a fellow woodturner in 2014. I rough turned it and then put it on top of my drying rack thinking it was one ugly piece of wood. Five years later I decided to turn it, and I almost gave up and pitched it in the burn pile due to a large inclusion in the bottom. I thought why not use it as practice piece, and I’m glad I made that decision. I was able to turn through the inclusion and turn what you now see as a 9” x 1-1/2” bowl with a 3/16” wall thickness, weighing in at about 2 ounces.
