A sculpted oak stool

I use a lot of grinding process while making rocking-chair especially the seat, and quickly develop some pleasure at this stage.
Further I think the use of a grinder allows quick work and aesthetic audacity. It’s possible to easily create bold rounding and nice junctions. Fine wood like walnut, oak, cherry take then magnificent aspects.
Sanding process will be naturally more longer but the pleasure of nice wood working .
This method makes it possible to go beyond usual uses in woodworking and to go to unexpected aesthetic pleasures.

Sanding oak up to 180, and two layer oil-wax

I personaly start alway with tails first. As I plan to sculp with a grinder I don't bother with first look.

I reduce thickness on tablesaw.

I glue tails and mortises later with some advanced sculpture.
