Cherry/Walnut Nightstand
I made this to replace my wife’s ugly nightstand. She said that she wanted it to be easy to clean underneath, hence the long legs. When I chose a method of attaching legs, I was inspired by Chris Schwarz’s staked worktable from “The Anarchist’s Design Book.”
This was my first project made entirely with hand tools, and the first incorporating dovetails. It includes mitered dovetails on the carcase, and half-blind and through dovetails on the drawers. The construction of the drawers is a variation on “NK” drawers, hence the unique profile where the poplar drawer sides join the fronts.
Finished with Tried and True Danish Oil and dewaxed shellac.

very nice, well done! I'd be interested to see more of your drawers. (ahem) :)
