Acrylic Table Transparent Lighted Router table
Original design!
As above:
My extremely talented brother Jan, acquired a large piece of acrylic public arena-grade hockey barrier (used to protect spectators) and fashioned it into a piece of industrial art! The 1/2″ acrylic holds his 3.25hp Triton router with no bowing or deflection. He milled the hole to fit the Jessem inserts for a finished look–again, perfectly flush & flat. The inserts are held to the table with 0.25″ x 0.0625″ rare earth magnets. A front mounted Kreg Safety Switch controls the router power. Dust and chip removal from the cabinet is currently a work in progess. Commercially available LED marker light strips add a practical (white light) as well as a bit of TBD whether whimsy or undetermined value to the project. The fence, of course, also shop made.
Just thought he deserved some recognition for the one-of-a-kind creation!
