Playing with a traditional Windsor design, Townley hoped the blend of symmetry and asymmetry in this love seat would suggest new ways for people to sit together. “It’s intended as an invitation to sit together with arms wrapped around each other,” she said. She employed both hand-cut mortise-and-tenons and bent lamination in the bench.
