In my opinion genuine Mahogany is a great solid wood to work with. Love the natural color or it plays well with a creation of an antique look by mixing stains. I had always dreamt to replicate the famous Lolling Chair or also known as Martha Washington Chair because of its elegance and historical meaning it carries.
To add more authenticity I decided to use horse hair and webbing. As well as coil springs and hand tide. With the help of my father an upholstery craftsman with 40 plus years in the industry we added value and art.
The final touches was interesting as we played with stains to achieve a glossy impeccable look to match the fabric. Its fabric portrays a European Damask print.
