Marquetry Mantel
This is a marquetry mantel that I made for a friend. It is five feet wide and fourteen inches high, with five wildlife marquetry panels. This was about three months of work. I cut my own veneer on the bandsaw, which give me a good choice of the woods used, and with a thickness of about 1.2mm thickness, the veneer is easy to work with. I used the french Boulle method of marquetry, and used a scroll saw to cut out the marquetry panels.
