Honduras Mahogany Hall Table
This hall table evolved out of the design of two Shaker night stands O’Brien made for his daughter. For the table, he added two drawers and increased the dimensions and proportions. But it was in attaining the wood that he really went above and beyond. He bought the bird’s-eye maple when a student at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine, and cut it down to carry in his luggage all the way home to Australia.
