Western Maple Chair
Schwartz credits Sam Maloof with influencing the design of this chair. “The front legs are a variation of Maloof’s signature joint,” he says. “The legs were turned on the lathe and the back legs were turned off axis so they could be shaped at the top and remain one piece.” The rest of the shaping was by hand with a spokeshave and rasp.
