This table was originally to be a just a cherry slab with metal legs. Quick. Easy. Done. Unfortunately, when I ordered the legs, I missed the note stating that there was a mounting flange attached that made them 3” wider than the slab. What to do? You can’t make wood wider. Or can you? I couldn’t send the legs back so I decided to take the slab and rip it into strips, add in maple and walnut to make up the missing inches, and then glue it back together like a cutting board. What was a plane and boring table is now something special.
