Tip: Cure for planer dust collection chute

After adding a 90 degree elbow secured with a pipe clamp, the weight of the hose eventually caused the fitting to break. I reinforced it with an outrigger mounted to very slightly tapered 5/8″ oak dowels inserted into the handle mountings. Result is a very rigid solution that Dewalt should consider. Two oak dowels mortised to an oak 1×2 with some nylon cord create superior support for a 4″ dust connection to capture its exceedingly high volume of shavings.
