Tilt-Top Game Table
Looking for a game table that would fit under the stairs in his newly remodeled home, Bill found the perfect inspiration from Will Myers (“Tilt-Top Table,” FWW #273). He modified the size to meet his needs, and created a marquetry top. “From the inside out, it has a curly maple star, figured walnut, zebrawood, gold leaf ring, tiger maple star inset into book-matched mesquite, all surrounded by curly oak.”

Beautiful marquetry! And lots of very clean visible joinery. I am curious if there are methods (not visible) to keep the top flat as the wood seasonally moves...internal structure maybe?...since it appears to be veneered on only one face and there are no battens running across the boards (in fact the brackets or "shoulders" are running with the grain)?
