Angelim pedra, spalted elm, and cherry sideboard
There were no trips to the lumberyard when Don got the commission to build this sideboard. The angelim pedra he used for the frame and drawer fronts was once the bed of a one-ton flatbed pickup. The door panels are from a fallen elm tree. And the cherry used in the rear panels came from Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage estate in Tennessee following a 1998 tornado that felled more than 1,000 trees.
