Making A Wooden Vise Handle

Here’s a simple project a did a while back, a wooden vise handle for my Yost 10″ woodworking vise. I had a meranti dowel on hand which measured almost exactly 1″. I sanded it down to just below 1″ to fit the vise, then turned two end caps from scrap pine.

I have a WEN mini-lathe, which was more than enough for this project. I finished the handle with Danish oil, and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out.
