White oak and maple cabinet
The carving design was taken from a blanket chest attributed to Thomas Dennis, a 17th-century cabinet maker in Ipswich, Mass. The overall design is inspired by case furniture from this period. “I chose to do housed tapered dovetails, since this was a joint that I wanted to try,” Eve says.

FWW Live Gallery
When the pandemic forced the cancellation of Fine Woodworking Live 2020, these promising furniture makers from woodworking schools around the country were set to be featured in the event’s gallery.
