Southwestern tiled tables
Here are a couple of tiled end tables. The tiles are from Talavera, Mexico. The tables are made of local Ponderosa pine. The cutouts on the aprons are a typical southwestern design.
The tiles are mounted on cement board. The inner wooden frame is about 1/4 inch thick to match the tiles. It has a poly finish so it is not affected when the tile is grouted.
The apron pieces are joined to the legs with mortise and tenon. The aprons on the narrower sides are the same as the ones on the longer sides except for length.
