Side Table
I made this side table for our Son. It is made of Hard Curly Maple, Norway Maple and many tropical hardwoods. It is finished with 4 spray coats of satin polyurethane. All colors are natural. The multi colored medallions / inserts are made using a process I call finger joints. Finger joints are are made using wither band saw or scroll saw: use cut, glue, cut, glue, cut glue again. Joinery used included dovetails, splines, through pinned mortise and tenons, half lap, rabbet, wood screws at a few places. Hardest thing I ever built. Size is 16 by 48 by 32 tall. Hours were about 90. The top floats of expanding pieces.
