Art Supply Storage – A Credenza for the Kids
Local cherry, ash, and maple make up this build. Mitered hand cut dovetails, textured and cord wrapped drawer pulls, and brass pinned bridle joints are a few of the features that draw in the eye. Slightly spalted and figured maple was used for the continuous grain drawer fronts. The design includes small drawers for markers and crayons, larger drawers for scissors and craft supplies, and racks for paper behind doors at both ends. The finish on this piece is Bush Oil and Johnsons Wax. I’ve found Bush Oil, made just 10 minutes from my home, to be a great finish on cherry specifically, adding a slightly aged patina without getting blotchy like cherry can sometimes.
