A Timber-Frame Home
When Ray and his wife moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, 20 years ago, he built a timber-frame home on his 30-acre property. What would become his current shop started out as an existing 1,200-sq.-ft. pole building that was on the property (above). It was unattractive, but served him well over the years. After some time they decided to make some changes to the structure—a new pitch on the roof, additional board and batten siding, new doors and windows, and a redwood deck on two sides of the structure.
