Baguette Stool
A professor of entrepreneurship at a technical university in South Korea, Steve designed these stools to teach an intermediate-level woodworking extracurricular class. The idea was to build a stool that is relatively easy for students to make in a limited time frame, yet comfortable to sit in. The seat was made with a CNC machine using data taken from the seat of a Windsor chair he hand-carved in a class with Curtis Buchanan. The backrest was steam-bent using air-dried walnut. The legs and stretchers were assembled with exposed Dominos. Steve calls it “Baguette Stool,” inspired by the shape of the backrest.
