Clock Full of Wooden Gears
This is Charles’s 14th clock with all wooden gears. He began building this type of clock after retiring in 2006 as a commander with 25 years of service in the U.S. Navy. The first wooden clock was inspired by a similar one that he saw in a Cape Cod art museum on his honeymoon in 1982. He told his wife then, “Someday I will build you one of these beautiful clocks.” She chuckled at the thought. Twenty-five years later, he made good on his promise.
