I have been thinking about this dresser since I finished the headboard a few months ago. And while designing it, I knew I wanted to create a piece that complemented the headboard without looking too similar. So with that parameter being set, I used walnut, like the headboard, and this time introduced some cherry accents. (I have been loving this wood combo since the wall cabinet if you haven’t noticed). These cherry accents mimic the waves from the headboard without being wavy at all. And I added some grooves to the drawer faces to add dimension and texture to the grain-matched fronts. I think it really brings out the curly grain of the walnut.
