Rosewood Dining Table
Solid African, Paduak, Rosewood. Steel rod construction for added stability and for precision gluing. 85 pieces of wood all glued together to build this table. To eliminate the possible tear-out or snip of the end grain edges, at locations surrounding the legs and entire table top planks edges, a handheld belt sander was used to shape the outer and inside surfaces of the four table legs and also all the rounded corners and edges, rather than the traditional rounding over method done with a router. Each leg has 6 pre glued sections which were later cut and then re-glued with the curved steel rods, then glued again a final time to the mitered ends of the table top.
