No, that’s not a typo. I am calling this piece the CabineTable, which I think fits as it is a cabinet and table combined (as I’m sure it is pretty obvious). The idea for this piece is that it could sit in the middle of a room next to an armchair where you can relax with a good book or iPad and drink a coffee (or your preferred beverage) – so it has to look good from all angles. I have been thinking about building this piece for a while now, so it was an excellent feeling to get it designed and built.
For this one, I went with walnut and white oak. I have wanted to do rounded miters with a waterfall edge again since the standing mirror I built last year, and this was the perfect place to add that, given all the curves in this piece. It features some sprawling splayed legs with a teardrop accent near the foot. I also incorporated round-overs and curves around the whole piece to soften the look and complement those waterfall miters.
