Motorized Circular Bar
Mel’s bar, rear wall, has three 3/4” thick, curved glass shelves. Each shelf has a sandblasted edges to glow a blue light from the rear fiber optic line. The rear wall is Brazilian Cherry veneer and the circular bar is plain slice maple veneer. An aluminum backing sheet is visible within the perforated holes. All of the metal parts for the motion sliding cabinet were fabricated from aluminum purchased at the metal scrap yard for $180. The motor includes one sprocket gear and one 36”rack gear hand bent to configure within the curved interior of the motion sliding cabinet. A small 1/4” dowel, Brazilian cherry button, was integrated with the relay switches to make the bar open and close.
