Here’s a blanket chest of my own design. I researched quite a few plans and any photo I could find but never found exactly what I was looking for. So I spent some time sketching and then drafting some plans of my own and came up with this.
There were still some modifications on-the -fly but the look and dimensions stayed the same.
I used all construction grade pine with about a 30% rejection of material due to knots, twists, or checking but when I looked at clear pine stock it just looked too boring.
The finish is clear Danish oil and polyurethane topcoat. All of the parts were hand planed prior to assembly, no sanding anywhere.
Thanks for looking.
