A simple chessboard in Walnut and Birdseye Maple.
My biggest takeaway from this project was this:
When laminating the squares for the board, LEAVE AN EXTRA 1/4 INCH ON EACH SIDE OF THE BOARD!
The lack of doing so caused me to scrap my first attempt and waste a lot of expensive hardwood.
This was a gift for my father’s 80th birthday.
