Draft
The entire piece except for the top and inside is textured using a scrub plane along the grain and a few touches of gouge prior final assembly. The vibration of the iron imprints regular lines inside the gouge-shaped texture. A semi-mat varnish was used to catch more light and make the texture more present.
It is assembled in hand-cut dovetails for the carcass and mitered tenon and mortise for the footing. The texture sculpting renders the dovetails slightly proud and the aprons were offset just a bit to avoid a mismatch of the scrub plane strokes along the joint lines.
The doors are in shop-made three-ply to maintain planarity. The edges were veneered to hide it.
The rest is hidden hinges, ball catches and edge dovetailed handles.
