Sapele mirror (24″ x 38″) with milk-painted columns, and inset gold-leafed flower carvings.  The oil painting above the mirror is  on 1/4″ mdf panel and can be easily and quickly swapped-out by removing a short section of steel bar stock on the back of the mirror held in-place by neodymium magnets in the mirror’s frame. This project was a lot of fun, and with endless ideas for painted panels, it will always be a work-in-progress!  While a couple of panels can be stored in the back of the mirror, the idea of a stand-alone piece to vertically house them (a sort of gallery-in-a-box) is rattling-around my brain…Hmmm….
