Bow arm Morris chair
With a copy of Greg Paolini’s plans and a few ideas of my own, I finally built a Morris chair. I added arches to the side and carvings to the panels. I chose cherry over white oak to fit in with furniture in its final resting place. The seat and back cushions are leather purchased online. With the help of Mike Mascelli’s Woodworkers Guide, I completed the seat and all but the cover for the back. A neighbor with a machine capable of sewing leather assisted me with the back. The arms have a beautiful grain pattern with top layer coming from slices of the same board.
