Ola Carmonius
Malmö, Sweden
This is Ola’s third iteration of a table-saw jig for tenons, double tenons, bridle joints, and box joints. The unique thing about it is the ballscrew-controlled carriage to which the workpiece is fastened. The ballscrew is connected to a control wheel divided into many segments. Each step on that control wheel represents 0.05mm of movement. This makes for CNC-level accuracy with manual control. The jig tilts in two directions to enable angled joinery. Ola says, “Don’t rule this out as overly complicated. Ten minutes of use and you are up to more speed and accuracy than any other system I know of.”
