Host Tom McLaughlin is joined by Fine Woodworking’s Mike Pekovich on this episode of Classic Woodworking. Mike shares his methods for making a beautiful tea box out of the dark and exotic wenge wood. He then contrasts that with a spectacular figured birdeye maple which creates the interior pieces in the box. Along with sharing his methods for making proud dovetails and a textured surface, Mike reveals a special clasp enclosure that makes this tea box really special.

Another great show. Beautiful tea box Mike, have to make one for my wife.
Unable to watch entire content.
Great episode. This box is one of my favorite Pekovich designs that I've seen on his Instagram and it was fun to see how he put it all together in-depth.
Pretty cool.
love all Mike Pekovich work. Would like to have a closer look at the jig used to clean out between pins
@user-3161528 Seems its useless asking questions here. I too would like to see a closer look. When my membership is up for renewal, will cancel. Pathetic there is no response.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I'm not sure what in user-3161528's comment required a response. If you look around the website, we respond to the vast majority of questions.
@BenStrano The jig used to to clean out the pins!! Did you actually watch the video?? Might want to see my unanswered question on Episode 807. And who are you??
1) It was a statement, "Would like to have a closer look at the jig used to clean out between pins".
2) Yes, I did watch the video, and knew exactly what he was referring to
3) I'm sorry I missed your comment on the other post. I'm not certain when the plans are going to be done for that project.
4) I'm the web producer for FineWoodworking.com
I get no response from Customer service(after two emails) I cannot access the videos. You took my money why is this happening? I had dropped this site in 2009 now I know why. Why can I not access the videos?
It keeps coming up media error check back later. Well this is later.
I feel like I've wasted 34.95$
User-7074870, I sent you an email asking for specifics. Also, 3-minutes later might not have been enough time for the resolution of any server issues our host might have been having.
In response to user-7074870, the video plays fine for me here. On what browser are you trying to watch the video? Is it up to date? Have you tried clearing the browser caches? Have you tried using a different browser?
If Fine Woodworking/The Taunton Press were not allowing the video to play, it wouldn't play for anyone.
Where can I get a router bit like that?
Great project and two of my favorite woodworkers. Thanks Mike and Tom!
Fantastic show - thank you!
@user-6960688 and 6887671: I just watched this video (enjoyed it: Thanks Mike and Tom!!!!)
I too wondered the same thing. I am not sure if this is the particular bit used, but may fit the bill: top bearing, small diameter, small cutting height.
