Michael Fortune demonstrates his collection of bandsaw jigs and improvements, maximizing the possibilities of one of the most important machines in the shop. From an auxiliary fence that minimizes blade exposure, a shop roller that attaches directly to the bandsaw, and auxiliary tables that can handle larger parts and concave surfaces, he has found ways to to make working safely much easier.
Michael makes a brilliant circle jig that can go from the bandsaw, to a router table, and then to an edge sander. The same idea applies to his tapering jig, which can be taken straight from the bandsaw to the planer to clean up cuts. For cutting cylinders of any size, he makes a V-block that helps you hold your pieces down safely, instead of fighting with the cutting direction of the bandsaw. And a reusable wedge jig sits by his bandsaw at all times. This is a great series that will make the bandsaw your new favorite machine.
