On The Road: 2006 Fine Furnishings Show
Three furniture makers share their tips for working with reclaimed lumber, preparing a live-edge tabletop, and a applying a colorful finishFine Woodworking editors were among a crowd of thousands that flocked to Providence, R.I., for the 2006 Fine Furnishings Show last month. The 11th annual event at the Rhode Island Convention Center brought together almost 200 furniture makers and artists for three days of showing, telling, and selling.
For Fine Woodworking, the event is an opportunity for editors to scout out new authors and potential article ideas from the parade of finely crafted furniture on display. This year, we decided to bring a video camera along and report back with some highlights from the show.
In the following three videos, Fine Woodworking managing editor Mark Schofield interviews three furniture makers from the show floor about their work, and collects some practical tips that any woodworker can take back to their shop.
