Working with Plywood by Hendrik Varju.
Passion for Wood, 2009.
$94.95 Canadian; 5 DVD set; 11 hrs, 18 mins.
Here’s another DVD set we recently received and we’re giving you an opportunity to win a copy. Leave a comment here for your chance to win.
Working with Plywood by Hendrik Varju begins with a planning session for a simple bookcase. This session is more than just about design: it includes drawings, dimensions of all the parts, and a review of how to plan the plywood panel sections from a full sheet of plywood. From there, some of the topics covered in the DVD include ways to apply edging, cut rabbets to fit the back panels, and how to fit and cut cross rails. In the end, the DVD shows you how to build the bookcase from the initial design to the final glue-up. And the glue-up is filmed in real time – no editing – so you’ll see all that goes into the process.
As with Varju’s other DVDs, this set has been called “Private Woodworking Instruction in a Box” because it is like having him there in the shop with you, giving you the hows and the whys to working with plywood. Hendrik covers all of the details that he would normally convey in person. This really is personal coaching in a DVD.

I've found DVDs to be a good way to learn new techniques. I'd love to add this to my collection.
This DVD would be a great addition to my collection
I've always been fascinated by plywood and would love to see this dvd series.
I would really enjoy owning this dvd collection, sounds like its full of ideas and instructions.
I like to work with plywood. And I would like to win the DVDs.
I have been teaching my 3 yr. old daughter to work with wood, small projects like a time capsule, etc. This will be a great addition for her future projects!!
I have been getting requests for cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom and I would love to have a little instruction with working with plywood. Thanks for the chance to further my knowledge....
Sounds like a good DVD set. Would love to see it.
Always looking to learn as much as I can. I would love to add this dvd to my collection
I have enjoyed Varju's articles and would like to learn more from him. Trying to learn all I can to make a living in woodworking.
It sounds like the subject is covered in detail, would make a great addition to our library. I would enjoy having it as a reference.
After looking at the website I would love to have the dvd set to learn what he has to teach me.
I just bought three sheets of plywood. I need the DVD really badly as I plan to start cutting this plywood soon.
From what I have heard on Matt V.'s podcast this this DVD is very good. Hendrik talks all about how to match & layout your ply before just cutting pieces. It talks about edge treatment pro & cons. If it's half as good as I think, it's well ,worth the price. Hendrik is a very good woodworker and has I think 4 DVD out now.
I would love to view this DVD as plywood is my main raw material. Good luck to meeee !!
Sure would help me ply my trade. (Heh, heh, had to)
Anything I can learn from, I'm up for!
As I have listened to hendrik on MBW it didn't take me long to learn how much I can learn from someone with this kind of knowledge. Now I soak up as much as possible. I love his almost obsessive attitude toward perfection, I tend to be the same way. I would love to see either of his new DVD's.
I'm always interested to learn as much as I can from anyone willing to teach me.
Sounds like a great DVD. Add me in the drawing.
This would be perfect to have as an addition to my shop. I have DVD, television and VHS available to use but no instructional tapes or DVD's to watch. This would be a perfect way to prove to the wife that it was a good idea to have these things available in my shop... and not just for watching television and movies :)
Knowledge == Good.
Please include me in the drawing.

Just listening to Hendrik discuss his DVD's with Matt Vanderlist is a learning experience. His DVD's must be a master class. Definitely count me in for this draw.
I don't work much with plywood, but would like to learn more about it.
As a novice woodworker this looks like a great DVD to add knowledge not yet saw dust filled head.
I have learned to work smarter and safer through use FWW and the web site. I imagine that the video on working with plywood would improve my skill level. I would love to add this DVD set to my library.

From what I have read, this is a great dvd set. Sign me up.
I have worked a lot with plywood and have never really felt I understood the material well enough to predict how it will work in a piece. I'd love to have this DVD to see what I can learn.

I love to watch woodworking DVDs in the morning while on the treadmill (portable DVD player) and then proceed to put the new ideas to work afterwards. New cabinets are next on my list - - a perfect application for plywood but I'd love to look at your DVDs first - - it would also contribute to my overall health.
Thanks.
Bob
DVD would be great. I have Hendriks Jointer/Planar DVD. Very thorough.
All the drawers I've made so far, and the jigs I am beginning to make, are all made out of plywood. This would go a long way to helping out with a few issues I've been having, and answer some questions.
I sure would like to win this baby!
Count me in, too! Feel free to let me win this dvd. Thanks.
Belle idée de votre part!
Hendrik's web site also has some great items & links, such as planning sheets for cutting plywood. This DVD would be a fantastic reference tool to have in the shop. I'm sure that whoever is lucky enough to win this will enjoy it. I look forward to viewing it.
It's also nice to see a fellow Canuck being successful and recognized for his hard work.
