**Web producer’s note – Apologies that this post is up a day and change late. I wound up sick in bed Friday. All day thinking I’d get up and get this post up it just never happened. Thankfully I’m much better and I’m catching up now. Sorry for the inconvienience. -Ben

For those unsure, searching Masters of the Craft in youtube yields the videos themselves, or searching FineWoodworking yields the Channel with all the other videos (including this one!).
Regarding Tom's sketches, I have a lot of respect for someone who can draw in perspective and scale. My sketches honestly don't evolve much more than rough dimensions for what my wife wants me to build. I then use them for a cut list, and honestly decide on the joinery as I go. As a beginning woodworker it fuels my excitement to just start working, get comfortable with my tools, develop my methods for various operations. I'm obviously paying less attention to themes, styles, even proportions at this stage since I'm mainly dealing with arts & crafts furniture and children's toys. But as you mentioned, it would be awesome to plan it all out then cut/build in a nice smooth flow. Guess that's a long term goal for me.
Thanks for the podcast. It's amazing how much Mike influences your conversation when he's not there.
Hi, i am enjoying the podcast a lot. After work i am painting our house. Some have called it the Golden Gate Bridge project (I might have to start all over by the time i am done). During the painting i listen to the FWW podcast. I am going back backwards, now at #98. By the way on issue #111, without Mike you guys sounded like a bunch of teenage girls on a sleepover with too much caffeine in your system, please don't do this without Mike again.
I just finished making the Rockler dovetail tablesaw jig. I like most aspects of it. The height setting of the tablesaw changes three times, which is not great.
The question is, i like to get into the smaller box building and use dovetails, but with a 1:6 dovetail and 3/8" thickness wooden sides, my 1/8" personally modified chisel does not fit well. How do you guys make those small dovetails in your drawers that go in the small cabinets.
Thanks for the advise.
Bas.
pabull,
I'd happily answer your question as I cut dovetails in a lot of thin parts, but I'm busily packing for a sleep over. Perhaps Mike will chime in.
Matt
